AOD support

Gateway Health works with individuals and the local community to reduce harm from alcohol and drug use and to help people to make positive changes in their lives.

Gateway Health’s Alcohol & Other Drugs (AOD) support comes one day a week and offers the following services every alternate week:

• Alcohol and Drug Counselling: a safe, non-judgemental counselling service to reduce harm to individuals, families and communities, and to help people achieve meaningful goals.
• Care and Recovery Coordination: support for people with drug and alcohol dependence, and other issues they are experiencing which are impacting their life.

Audiology

Essence Audiology provides hearing tests, hearing aids and ear wax removal with expert, patient-centred care.

They come to Corryong on an ad-hoc basis based on bookings. To book an appointment, call (02) 6060 2666.

Hearing Australia has provided expert hearing care to Australians of all ages and from all walks of life. They are committed to helping even more people across the nation stay connected to the people and life they love. They are the nation’s largest provider of government-funded hearing services for children, young adults up to the age of 26, eligible Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, pensioners and veterans.

They come to Corryong every four weeks on a Monday. Book online or call 134 432.

Community Legal Services

Hume Riverina Community Legal Service provides free legal assistance in civil and family law to those who are most in need: people experiencing barriers to accessing justice who have intersecting legal and non-legal problems. 

They come monthly, on the first Thursday of each month. To book a session, call our Reception on (02) 6076 3200.

Financial Counselling and Capability

Upper Murray Family Care Financial Counselling provide free, confidential support for people within our region who are experiencing financial disadvantage and vulnerabilities, working to improve their financial situation. 

They come to Corryong on an ad-hoc basis, based on need. To arrange a Financial Counselling appointment or referral with UMFC please email [email protected] or contact (02) 6055 8000.

Mental Health

Albury Wodonga Health’s Mental Health Service provides specialist clinical assessment, treatment and on-going care to people who have, or who are at risk of a serious mental illness or suicide. 

They visit Corryong Health every second Tuesday. You will need to call their Mental Health triage line on 1300 104 211 to get an appointment.

A Gateway Health Mental Health Nurse Practitioner comes every week on alternating days and can provide the following support:

• Comprehensive mental health assessments
• Mental state and risk assessments
• Medication reviews within my scope of practice
• Metabolic and physical health monitoring for clients prescribed psychiatric medications
• Pathology requests and interpretation where clinically indicated
• Referrals to psychiatrists for diagnostic clarification and medication recommendations
• Development of treatment plans
• Support with referrals to appropriate community services
• Education for clients and their families regarding mental health and treatment options

Accord Health provides professional Mental Health services with trained Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers – all trained and specialising in Mental Health support for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Accord visits Corryong Health on the last Wednesday of each month.

Pathology

Dorevitch Pathology services are available between 8am and 12pm from Monday to Friday, for tests ordered by your Medical Practitioner.

Psychosocial support

Psychosocial support refers to non-clinical services designed to improve mental well-being, build resilience, and help individuals independently navigate daily life, work, and social connections. It bridges the gap between clinical treatment and everyday social needs.

Wellways offers a wide range of individually tailored services designed to support people affected by mental health issues or disability, as well as their families, friends and carers.  They visit Corryong Health one day a fortnight. Child & Family Health Services

HIPPY- A free home-based early learning program that helps parents
and carers support their 3-year-old child’s literacy, numeracy
and school readiness.

CHIPS- Early support for children aged 0–12 who are experiencing
social, emotional or behavioural challenges, with counselling,
group work and parenting support available.

CHILD & FAMILY COUNSELLING-Counselling support for primary school-aged children and families, including help with anxiety, grief, family
changes and identity-related needs.

PARENTING PROGRAMS – Free parenting programs, information sessions and
one-on-one support for parents and carers of children
aged 0–18 years.
