Upper Murray Postvention Response Protocol
Corryong Health is proud to have been entrusted to lead the development of the Upper Murray Postvention Protocol, bringing together the knowledge, experience and commitment of organisations and community members from across the region. The protocol represents a shared commitment to ensuring our community responds with compassion, coordination and care following an unexpected or suicide death.
Protocol development has only been possible through a genuine community co-design process involving three collaborative workshops and ongoing consultation with representatives from Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police, Towong Shire Council, THRIVE, AgBiz Assist, local schools, faith leaders, Snowy Hydro, sporting organisations, service clubs, community organisations, the Corryong Courier and many other individuals who contributed. We sincerely thank everyone who generously shared their time, expertise, local knowledge and lived experience throughout the process. Together, your willingness to collaborate has created a practical, locally informed resource that strengthens our community’s ability to respond, recover and support one another during times of profound loss.
The protocol reflects the strength of the Upper Murray community, one that recognises that no single organisation can respond alone and that by working together we can provide timely, compassionate and coordinated support to those who need it most.
